Luftbild Ostseefjord Schlei, Stadt Arnis - kleinste Stadt Deutschlands - Perle an der Schlei | Stadt Arnis: Von 1927 an war Arnis der letzte verbliebene Flecken der Provinz. Der formelle Übergang zur Stadt erfolgte am 1. Januar 1934, als die Nationalsozialisten alle bisherigen Städte und Flecken per Verordnung zu Städten erklärten. Am 14. April 1934 wurde Arnis offiziell bestätigt – dieses Datum gilt heute als Stadtgründungsdatum.
